The Agency for the Prevention of Corruption does not answer whether it initiated proceedings against the member of the Bosniak Party (BS) in the Assembly of the Municipality of Rožaje, Besim Kurbardović, due to suspicion that he violated the Law on Prevention of Corruption.
Kurbardović is listed in the Central Register of Business Entities (CRPS) as the founder and authorized representative of "Selena" from Rožaj.
The law stipulates that a public official cannot be, among other things, an authorized representative or executive director in a company and that he should have resigned within 30 days of his appointment.
A fine of 500 to 2.000 euros is threatened for violating the Law.
On December 24, "Vijesti" asked the institution headed by Sreten Radonjić if they initiated proceedings against the BS councilor, what was its outcome, and if not, why not.
Kurbardović reported in the property register that he is the owner of 50 percent of "Selena", a company whose activity is the production of wood, cork, straw and wicker products.
The executive director of the company is Selvedin Kurbardović, and among the founders is Ramiz Kurbardović.
The Tax Administration told "Vijesta" that the last change related to the participation of councilors in "Selena" was made six years ago.
"The last change made in the registration data of the business entity 'Selen' Rožaje doo, which related to the person of Besim Kurbardović, was made on February 23, 2, in the part of changes in shares in the ownership structure," the institution said. headed by Miomir M. Mugoša.
This company was registered in May 2006.
When it comes to his income, Kurbardović reported 110 euros per month as a councilor in the Rožaje municipality and less than 100 euros from a business company.
He did not give the Agency access to bank accounts.
Kurbardović was tenth on the electoral list of the Bosniak Party in the elections in Rožaje, which were held on May 27.
Rafeto Husović's party won absolute power in these elections and they have 19 out of 34 council seats in the city parliament.
