The reconstruction and paving of Đulje Jovanova Street will be completed in mid-November, the city company "Roads" announced.
"The work is ongoing and will be completed in the middle of the month, and in order to complete it, it is still necessary to repair the damaged curbs and sidewalks, prepare the surface for asphalting the street, install layers of asphalt mass and mark horizontal signage," the company's announcement states. "Roads", whose director is Violeta Klikovac.
They explained that the works on the construction of the sewage system in the mentioned street, which started in mid-August, were slow due to the great depth of the pipe channel of five meters.
"In order to start the preparatory work for the asphalting of the street, it was necessary to finish concreting the trench and transverse connections, which requires a certain period of time in which the building material - concrete - is bound, so that it can bear the load of heavy construction machines, the use of which is necessary to perform the necessary works," the announcement reads.
The "Vijesti" journalist was on Đulje Jovanova Street on Friday and made sure that the street was prepared for asphalting, but he did not see construction machines.
Sewage works were stopped in mid-September by the company Vodovod i kanalizacije, because they decided to work in the part of Iveza Vukova Street as well. The technical director of that company, Filip Makrid, said at the time that numerous residents from Iveza Vukova Street submitted requests for the construction of storm sewers, which is why they met them. The realization of the project, worth around 550.000 euros, has been completed, he claims, in the streets of Đulja Jovanov and Iveza Vukova in Masline.
