The municipality of Rožaje applied to the Directorate of Public Works as a priority to build the street where the President of the Bosniak Party and Deputy Prime Minister Rafet Husović lives.
The directorate invested 60 thousand euros for the construction of the right branch of Rifata Burdžević Street next to Husović's house, although it is a 350-meter-long dead-end street that leads to a meadow.
Director of the Directorate for Construction and Investments in Local Government, Mirsad Džudžević, claims that the previous government, which was replaced in last year's elections, started the works.
"At that time, the lower section of the road was completed and the work was interrupted due to unpaid obligations to the contractor. About 30 households live in that street and it was necessary to complete all the remaining phases of the project," said Džudžević, stating that the value of the work was 95 thousands of euros.
The Directorate of Public Works claims that the value of the project is EUR 60, which is the amount for which the tender was announced on the portal of the Public Procurement Directorate on April 30. The name of the street is not mentioned in the tender, but the subject of the public call is the reconstruction of the road in Rožaje.
Despite the request of "Vijesti" journalists from the Directorate, it was not possible to get a look at the tender documentation specifying the works and the name of the street.
"The Directorate has announced a public tender for works on the reconstruction of city roads in the Municipality of Rožaje, based on the priorities of the local administration. The tender documentation includes the final works on the construction of the right side of Rifata Burdževića Street, which includes the creation of a buffer layer, the installation of concrete curbs and the installation of asphalt curtains in two layers", the Directorate's reply states.
The investment program for this year envisages that the construction of the right branch of Rifata Burdževića Street will be financed from the capital budget of the Municipality, and that other infrastructural facilities will be submitted to the Directorate.
It was not possible to reach the President of the Bosniak Party, Rafeto Husović, on the phone numbers known to the newsroom.
