About nine percent of women are currently employed in the Army of Montenegro (ACG), and that percentage is increasing significantly from year to year, it was announced at the seminar on gender issues on the topic of Women in the Defense Sector, held in Podgorica.
As announced by the Ministry of Defense, the Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, Dragan Samardžić, closed the four-day seminar today and presented certificates to the participants of the training.
Samardžić thanked the Ministry of Defense of Slovenia for organizing the seminar, as well as the lecturers and instructors.
He said that since the restoration of independence, much attention has been paid to the representation of women in the defense sector and their inclusion in the decision-making process in the Ministry and the Croatian Armed Forces.
"At the moment, 8,92 percent of women are employed in the Army, and that percentage is increasing significantly, from year to year," the statement said.
Samardžić pointed out that it is of particular importance to develop awareness of the necessity of using all available human resources, regardless of gender, religion, nationality or any other affiliation.
"Expertise and professionalism in the execution of tasks should be the only measure in the selection of personnel", concluded Samardžić.
