The director of the Pediatric Clinic at the Institute for Children's Diseases of the Clinical Center, Maja Kavarić, resigned from that position.
Kavarić told "Vijesta" that she resigned on August 31, when the former director of the Institute, Danojla Dakić, also did.
When asked what was the reason for withdrawing from that position, she answered that she chose Dakić as an associate three years ago and that she accepted it "exclusively to help her in trying to do something for the common house, the Children's Hospital."
"The moment she retired, my resignation was a logical sequence for me. That's the only reason,'' said Kavarić.
Asked if and when she informed KCCG director Ranko Lazović about her resignation, given that he previously denied speculations about her resignation, Kavarićeva said that she "assumes that it was not forwarded to him in a timely manner".
The new director of the Pediatric Clinic, according to "Vijesti" unofficial information, is Draško Nikčević, head of the Department of Hematology and Cardiology at that clinic.
Two days after Dakić resigned, Lazović appointed Sonja Milašinović, the former head of the Pediatric Surgery Department at the Children's Surgical Clinic, to head the Institute.
Dakić previously told "Vijesta" that she was thinking about resigning and that there were no "special reasons" for withdrawing from that position, denying rumors that she had been fired.
She explained that she was the director for three years, which, she claims, made her tired, and she also believes that "directors should be changed".
