Child surgery and orthopedics specialist Sonja Milašinović is the new director of the Institute for Children's Diseases of the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG).
This was announced to "Vijesta" by the director of KCCG, Ranko Lazović, who, after talking with the doctors, decided to put Milašinović, the head of the pediatric surgery department at the Children's Surgical Clinic, at the head of the Institute.
"Vijesti" announced two days ago that the director of the Institute, Danojla Dakić, resigned from that position. She said that she had thought about the move and that there were no "special reasons" for her to step down, denying rumors that she had been fired.
Dakić replied that conflicts were not the reason for her resignation and pointed out that she fully supports the new management and Lazović.
She explained that she was the director for three years, which, she claims, made her tired, and she also believes that "directors should be changed".
Dakić was appointed director of the Children's Hospital by former KCCG director Milan Mijović in April 2012, after he dismissed Dr. Vesna Miranović.
In April of this year, Mijović resigned "for personal reasons", and the Government appointed Lazović.
He soon dismissed nine clinic directors, claiming that he was guided by professional criteria, ignoring party and private criteria.
Although employees speculated that the director of the Pediatric Clinic at the Institute, Maja Kavarić, had also resigned, she will continue to perform that function.
