Primer in Albanian is of high quality and can improve teaching in that language, assessed the director of the Institute for Textbooks Zoja Bojanić-Lalović, stating that the Montenegrin education system is recognized as fair, which implies that the education of all children is considered equally.
Today, the Ministry of Education handed over 288 primers for students from six schools in Montenegro, who attend classes in the Albanian language in order to improve its quality.
Bojanić-Lalović said that this is a significant day for the Institute for Education and Teaching Aids, because they are able to enrich the teaching in the Albanian language.
"We recognized this primer as a quality teaching tool that can improve teaching in the Albanian language," Bojanić-Lalović said when handing out textbooks to students at the "Mahmut Lekić" Elementary School.
She stated that new teaching aids were also developed in the languages that are used in classes.
"Maps of Montenegro in the Albanian language, multiplication and division tables, as well as alphabets in Albanian and other languages that are used in classes, were also prepared," specified Bojanić-Lalović.
The Institute for Textbooks and Teaching Aids, as she stated, is still working on improving textbooks for all students.
"So this is just another beginning and a good step for everyone who is getting an education in Montenegro without distinction," said Bojanić-Lalović.
According to her, the Montenegrin education system is recognized as fair, which implies that the education of all children is considered equally.
"For us, there is no difference, it's just a matter of choosing a quality textbook and quality teaching material," said Bojanić-Lalović.
Director of the Directorate for Education of Minorities and Other National Communities in the Ministry of Education, Marash Dukaj, said that primers will be distributed in elementary schools as well "29. novembar", "Jedinstvo", "Đer Kastriot Skenderbeg" in the city municipality of Tuzi.
According to him, as a result of the efforts of the relevant institutions in education, starting today, second-grade students in Albanian language classes will be able to use that primer as an auxiliary teaching tool in education.
"This is good news not only for Albanian students, but also for the Albanian public as a whole," said Marash Dukaj.
In this way, he added, one of the demands of the Albanian population was realized.
"And in the future, we will advocate for the Albanian language primer to become a basic textbook, for which the Ministry of Education and Culture is ready," announced Marash Dukaj.
He reminded that the primers were a donation from the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.
The director of the "Mahmut Lekić" Elementary School, Nikola Dukaj, said that starting from this school year, all members of the Albanian population in Montenegro will be able to use the primer as a supplementary teaching tool.
"I hope that in the future, in the interest of our students, we will have more projects like this intended for students of minority nations in Montenegro," he said.
