Budva refused Barović to legalize part of the villa

Budva's Secretariat for Urban Planning has stopped the process of legalizing part of the "Villa Manojlović" on Slovenska Beach owned by businessman Veselin Barović, because it is located in an area that is not yet covered by planning documentation. In May, Barović submitted a request for the legalization of two illegally built business premises of 34 and 28 square meters, which was recorded as encumbrance in the cadastral records.

"The object in question was built on a cadastral plot that is located in an area outside the scope of the planning document of detailed elaboration, which is why the Secretariat, in accordance with the Law on Spatial Planning and Construction of Buildings, issues a decision on the termination of the procedure, and the resolution of the request will continue after the adoption of the Plan general regulation", it is stated in the decision of the Secretariat, which "Vijesti" had access to.

According to the new law, the general regulation plan must be drawn up by the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism, and it is expected to be adopted in 2020. Barović is one of almost four thousand citizens and businesses who have submitted applications for the legalization of illegally built buildings. Therefore, practically half of the buildings in Budva, or their parts, were built illegally.

"Villa Manojlović" is one of the most recognizable buildings on Slovenska beach. It was built almost 60 years ago and was the most attractive building outside the walls of the Old Town.

It is less known that the charming house on the coast itself was the endowment of the Manojlović family. According to the will of the former owners, in the seventies of the last century, the villa was left to the medical students of the University of Belgrade for rest and recovery during the holidays.

This was respected for some time, until the Villa passed into state hands. At the beginning of the "privatization hysteria" in the 21st century, Barović bought the "Villa Manojlović". The godfather of the current president, Milo Đukanović, rented out the villa, and a few years ago he partially renovated it, so that it retained its old appearance.
