Apprentice: Qualified healthcare facilities in Budva, Kotor and Cetinje

The health facilities in Budva, Kotor and Cetinje are equipped spatially, technologically and in personnel to provide quality health care to citizens at all levels, assessed the Minister of Health, Budimir Šegrt.

As announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs, on Wednesday he visited general hospitals and health centers in Budva, Kotor and Cetinje with associates and representatives of the Health Insurance Fund, as part of a regular tour of health institutions in Montenegro.

"Health care facilities are spatially, technologically, and staff-equipped to provide quality health care to citizens at all levels," said Šegrt.

According to him, the healthcare system needs to be reorganized, according to real needs, so that it can provide quality healthcare to citizens.

"The apprentice emphasized the need to improve coordination at all levels, as well as the need for a more rational consumption and distribution of funds and better control, especially of prescribing medicines and sick leave, for which the state allocates large funds, and where there are large abuses," the statement says. As stated, it was assessed that in order to provide quality health services at all levels of health care, it is necessary to carry out continuous education and professional training.

"Since the summer tourist season is just around the corner, it has been agreed that health institutions coordinate their work organization and put all their capacities into operation, in order to be able to respond to the potential needs of tourists for health care," the announcement states.

As he writes, the apprentice also spoke with the presidents of Cetinje, Budva and Kotor municipalities, Aleksandar Bogdanović, Lazar Rađenović and Aleksandar Stjepčević, about the possibility of involving the local government in projects aimed at improving the health care of the residents of these municipalities.

"It was assessed that the local administrations of the coastal municipalities are a partner of the Ministry of Health in the development and promotion of health tourism", the announcement concludes.
