Residents of the Danilovgrad settlement Komunica 3, which is located on the Zagara road near Novi Selo, have been without water for days.
The Communica 3 Local Board told "Vijesta" that the problems with the water supply in that village have been going on for years, and that for the past six days "there is no water even for medicine."
They claim that they have been trying to solve the problem with the administration of Danilovgrad JP Vodovod for the past five years, but that the taps are still dry.
"Some households have a clarifier, but some don't even have that. The highest houses in the village have no water neither in winter nor in summer, and now, for the sixth day, there is no one. There are more than 50 households here... We have no water for drinking, bathing, basic needs ..We can't water the cattle," said the Ministry of Defense.
They added that the director of JP Vodovod Darko Đuričković promised them that he would present the problem at the session of the local parliament, but they did not have an answer from him as to whether he did so.
"According to the project that was done, the problem with the water supply should have been solved a long time ago, but Đuričković asked us to be patient this time too. Two years ago, they were supposed to do the first phase, but it turned out that they didn't have the money for it. Although we paid two thousand marks for the connections a long time ago, we agree to collect part of the money again, and let the municipalities donate the rest, but they are still not taking any action", claim the Ministry of Communication 3.
The inhabitants of that village explain that they themselves were involved in overcoming the problem, and that they were informed that money was once obtained to solve the issue of water supply, but that they do not know who is blocking the construction of the water pump.
"We got a location to build a pump house, we are ready to pay the electricity bill for that cougar, but nothing... We keep hearing that it will be resolved by spring, then by summer, then at the end of summer... However, there is still no water , and that does not affect its price, because we pay more for it than in Podgorica.
We talked to Đuričković about it. He told us that water is more expensive because of poor billing, and those who steal water. It's not our fault. And he, like everyone, knows who steals the water. We cannot feel sorry for them. We know that they wrote reports to some, but not to individuals who are in positions, and who also steal water," said the committee.
They appealed to councilors in the local parliament, which resumes its session tomorrow, to get involved in solving their problem.
