The Bosniak Party (BS) appealed to establish criminal responsibility for the arrest and deportation of Bosniak refugees 23 years ago, and to stop denying that war crime.
The party reminded that on May 27, it will be 23 years since the arrest of Bosniak civilians who were then deported to war-torn Bosnia and Herzegovina.
"And this May 27, we appeal to stop denying the war crime committed against the refugee Bosniak civilians, to establish criminal responsibility through a court epilogue, and we wholeheartedly support the idea of building an adequate memorial in Herceg Novi, where the largest number of refugee civilians were arrested" , they said from BS.
As they reminded, dozens of Bosniak-Muslim refugee civilians were illegally arrested in Montenegro and handed over to the Bosnian Serb army in Bosnia and Herzegovina as hostages.
"Only 12 deported persons managed to survive the torture in the concentration camps, and the remains of the majority of the victims have not yet been found," the BS press release states.
From that party, they asked the competent authorities to re-process that crime and that all those who participated in it in any way be "brought to justice".
BS believes that this war crime has not yet been punished in accordance with international or domestic law.
"The repression suffered by the Bosniak refugees in Montenegro is a serious crime, unimaginable under any circumstances, contrary to all international conventions, which should receive a full judicial epilogue", concludes the BS statement.
