In addition to the Montenegrin flags, yesterday on the roof of the building, where the JAT representative office was located, on Freedom Street, the flag of the former Yugoslavia with five points, the old Montenegrin flag (red, blue, white), as well as the Communist Party flag was flying.
The residents of the building did not know who put up the flags.
They think that someone sent a message about past times, that is, how much better life was in the former great Yugoslavia.
"Honestly, I think that this was posted by some Yugonostalgic. "I believe that the citizens who lived in the era of that state felt well-being and real life, no matter how much someone disagrees with that statement," said Ivan Popović.
Fellow citizen Marko Ivanović said that he only knew about the former Yugoslavia from the stories of the elders, that is, what the flags displayed on the roof of the building mean.
"I suppose that many, including me, did not think that the independence of Montenegro would be celebrated in a difficult economic situation, as it is today," said Ivanovic.
On the occasion of celebrating the ninth anniversary of independence, the streets of the city are decorated with flags.
Saint Peter Cetinje Boulevard, Street of Freedom, King Nikola...
This caused many comments from citizens, on portals and social networks.
Many support the celebration of independence in this way, but there are also many who pointed out that it is not aesthetically beautiful at all.
Especially, because the flags are not displayed on masts, but hang on wires above the roads.
