An evacuation exercise was organized in resource centers in Montenegro, on the occasion of marking the International Disaster Risk Reduction Day.

As announced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP), the exercise was organized in the resource centers "Podgorica" ​​and "1. Jun" in Podgorica, as well as in the resource center for hearing and speech "Dr Peruta Ivanović" in Kotor.

"Evacuation exercises were organized and conducted by the officers of the Directorate for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in accordance with the already prepared enterprise protection and rescue plans for these institutions," the announcement says.

The International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, October 13, established by the General Assembly of the United Nations, is celebrated in order to raise awareness among citizens about the importance of building a society that will have a high degree of resilience in situations of natural and other disasters.

"Where resilience is defined as the ability of a system, community or society that is exposed to hazards to resist, adapt and recover from the effects of hazards in a timely and efficient manner, through the preservation and restoration of key and basic structures and functions", specified the Ministry of Interior .
