At the Faculty of Philosophy in Nikšić, 60 years of scientific work of regular member of the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts (CANU) and retired university professor, Miomir Dašić, were marked.

Opening the round table, which was organized by the University of Montenegro and the Study Program for History of the Faculty of Philosophy in Nikšić, Dean Goran Barović said that it was only one of the sessions of the presentation of Dašić's voluminous work on the occasion of 85 years of life and six decades of scientific work.

Speaking on the topic Historian at the crossroads of epochs, Radenko Šćekić assessed that the name of Dašić is at the very top of Montenegrin and former Yugoslav historiography.

"He is recognized for his erudite approach and invaluable scientific pedagogical experience, which he selflessly passed on to numerous generations of students and translated into numerous monographs, studies and scientific works that aroused the interest of a wider readership," Šćekić said.

According to his words, Dašić always clearly opted for the truth about what happened, as opposed to those who were closer to "desirable", pragmatic history and historiography, which was viewed and created from the perspective of the present and the current political moment".

Professor Živko Andrijašević said that Dašić is a distinguished Montenegrin historian whose work is voluminous, extensive, significant and diverse.

"We can think this or that about him from different positions, professional or some other places, but we can all agree that he is a serious historian and a scientific work that deserves the attention of historiography and that will be the subject of interest in the future," Andrijašević said.

Speaking about the representation of general history in the works of Dašić, Nada Tomović said that in his rich scientific opus, he dealt with numerous issues from our national history, dealt with the methodology of historical science, native history. dealing with spatially and temporally different topics, historical phenomena and events.

Professor Šerbo Rastoder pointed out that Dašić was the first author of textbooks on historical science in 1978 and that he laid the foundation of the historical craft, which is a basic prerequisite for understanding that science, to which he made an immeasurable contribution.
