Last year, the company "Communal Services" spent 1,1 million euros on electricity costs for public lighting.
By the end of last year, there were 30.685 lighting fixtures on the territory of Podgorica, "thus it belongs to a large branched system".
"Therefore, the current costs for maintaining such a system are high, as well as the costs for the consumed electricity. Our business policy aims to implement measures and activities to minimize the mentioned costs, considering the prices of energy products that have a tendency of constant growth", it is stated in the report on the company's work for the last year.
As stated in the document, in early 2016, the company created all the necessary prerequisites for the procurement and installation of LED lamps on the territory of the Capital City.
"From the beginning of the introduction of LED lighting until the end of 2017, our company installed about 2.700 lamps, which were used for the construction of new public lighting facilities, while a small percentage was used to replace the existing worn-out lamps," the report states.
95 executors are employed in the company for an indefinite period, and two executors are employed for a fixed period. Four interns work in the company. In 2017, 1,2 million euros were spent on salary and personal income expenses.
Some of the old lamps were reportedly replaced thanks to various donations.
"The plan for the development of the LED public lighting system on the territory of the Capital City envisages the reconstruction of public lighting in two phases. The first phase includes villages and suburban settlements, while the second phase will include the reconstruction of public lighting in the city center and urban settlements," the document states.
The total amount of income generated from the provision of services to third parties amounts to 1.808.467 euros.
In June of this year, the company suspended the second tender, worth 5,2 million euros, for the procurement and installation of LED lamps in the area of the capital and the municipalities of Golubovci and Tuzi, because no valid offer was submitted.
In the report of the company "Communal Services", it is stated that the issuance of pillar posts for the purpose of highlighting advertising material to interested parties, which they started in 2016, experienced an expansion last year.
"In this (2017) year, all the costs of purchasing advertising billboards were paid with revenues, which means that the investment was returned for a period of one year, so that all revenues from this activity in 2018 will remain with Municipal Services," the document states.
