556 boxes of the drug "Pancillin" (50x800000 injections) were withdrawn from the "Montefarma" pharmacy, it was announced to "Vijesta" yesterday from that institution.
As they clarified, they did so based on the notification from "Hemofarm" about the temporary withdrawal from the market and suspension of the use of the drug, dated August 10 of this year.
"The mentioned drug was withdrawn because the process of dissolution leads to the formation of a thick suspension that leads to the clogging of the injection needle with which it is applied, making the application of the drug difficult", they pointed out from "Montefarm".
According to the data they have from the manufacturer, it is not certain that the medicine will be available in the next two months.
"We would like to point out that patients are not at risk due to the shortage of medicine because 'Montefarm' has other antibiotics in sufficient quantities", they claim from "Montefarm".
Vaccination against seasonal flu at the Podgorica Health Center started yesterday, and as announced by that institution, everyone who is recommended should contact the selected doctor with whom they are registered.
"They should make an appointment, because people who have an elevated temperature or some acute illness at that moment may not receive the vaccine," the Health Center states.
9.570 flu vaccines were allocated this year for the citizens of Podgorica. Of that number, as the director of the Health Center Neboša Kavarić said, about a hundred are for children, and the rest are for adults.
They explained that vaccination is recommended for children older than six months with chronic diseases of the respiratory system, cardiovascular system and kidneys, people being treated for metabolic disorders (such as diabetes) and with reduced immune system function, including people with HIV/AIDS -, as well as to people who have transplanted organs.
"Also, vaccination is recommended for all persons over 65 years of age, chronically ill persons, who live in collective accommodation, health workers and associates. Vaccination against influenza is the only specific preventive measure and the most effective health measure, when it comes to preventing illness and complications of influenza," the Health Center stated.
