Nemanja Bulatović from Donje Biševo accused the new BS - SDP government in Rožaje of religious discrimination during the winter maintenance of rural roads. Due to the selective cleaning, he claims, the health condition of his seriously ill father was further impaired.
"My father does not walk and speaks poorly. Because of the change found on his brain, which could be a tumor, last Tuesday we had to take him to the hospital urgently. We prayed to the local government to clear the way for us, and promised," said Nemanja.
The road to his house was partially cleared, but it was still impassable.
"When I complained about it last Wednesday, the head of the road supervisory body in the local government, Demir Nurković, was more than rude. He told me that there was no fuel in order to make sure on the ground that the road was impassable. At my insistence, they cleaned that section , because on Thursday morning I had to urgently take my father to the Clinical Center in Podgorica, where he stayed, Nurković cheekily told me to go to Žabljak and Savnik to see what the roads are like there," claims Bulatović.
It is unclear to him why Nurković sent him to Šavnik and Žabljak, when there was at least twice as much snow as in Rožaje, if it was "not a message to move out because he is Orthodox."
"He offended me a lot, as well as the fact that for days there were impassable villages with a majority Orthodox population. We carried the sick father in our arms for at least 500 meters to the place where the jeep could come. The cold and such a mode of transport further damaged his health, so I wonder where we live and what is the treatment of healthy people, when there is no empathy for seriously ill people," said Bulatović.
He thanked the director of the Health Center, Hajran Kalač, who offered all available help in caring for and transporting the patient.
Nurković thought it was cleared
To Bulatović's accusations, Demir Nurković replied in a text message:
"I don't know. And I know for sure that the road to his house was cleared last week".
He then recommended the "Vijesti" reporter to go to the spot and see for herself. When asked if he traveled that way, he said that he did not, but that his subordinates allegedly did it, which Bulatović denies.
Bulatović points out that they called the director of the Waterworks, Safet Redžović, who was willing to help because of an urgent health situation, but the local administration told him that they did not agree that the machines would clean the road.
