Bešović said that the citizens, whose money was used to buy the vehicle, would only benefit if the confiscated vehicle was sold and the money was directed to the needs of the citizens.

It is most likely that it will be taken over by someone who is closer to the mayor and is his trusted henchman," said Bešović. "Vijesti" announced that a jeep, license plate PG DU 850, had been parked in front of the Capital City building for some time, which was bought in 2011 by the head of the Protection and Rescue Service, Radomir Pješčić, for the needs of that service. According to the pledge register of the Commercial Court, the vehicle was purchased through leasing from the "Hipo Alpe Adria" bank for 71 euros. "Vijesti" from the Capital City announced that he will most likely make an announcement today, while Pješčić did not respond to the journalist's call and text message yesterday. Emphasizing that it is not correct to dispose of property that citizens have paid for in this way, Bešović said that the reasons for confiscating the vehicle are "questionable".

"If it is a move on a personal basis... then there is no difference whether the vehicle will be used by the Protection Service or some other service, because the costs will be the same," Bešović assessed.

Former member of the SNP, Vladimir Vujović, said that a serious analysis should be made of how many vehicles there are and whether someone is abusing them, and then get rid of the surplus. He pointed out that he does not support individual moves to confiscate means of transport, "because the fact that Marko Janko will take away the vehicle is a frivolous move".

"We have pointed out before that the fleet of the Capital City is larger than the needs and that luxury is exaggerated... When the possibilities are limited and investments have almost died, one should not invest, except as much as necessary," said Vujović.

Anyone who bought a vehicle in 2011 can take it

The lawyer with whom the "Vijesti" reporter spoke said that the most important thing is the budget from which the vehicle was purchased.

"Is it from the budget of the Protection Service or the Capital City? The person who bought the vehicle can take it, "said the interlocutor.
