The Secretariat for Local Self-Government announced a public competition for the commander of the Capital City Protection Service for four years.
In the ad, which was published on the website of the PG Bureau, it is written that the candidate must have a higher education in the amount of 240 credits, five years of work experience in protection and rescue work and at least three years of work experience in management work and passed a professional exam for performing work management of the protection service.
According to unofficial information from "Vijesti", the position of the head of the Protection Service, which until now was managed by Radomir Pješčić, went to the Social Democratic Party according to an earlier coalition agreement with the Democratic Party of Socialists in the capital.
Pješčić has been the head of the Protection Service since June. in 2010.
During his leadership of the Protection and Rescue Service, a new Range Rover jeep was purchased, worth over 72 euros.
That purchase caused a revolt, as well as a protest by firefighters, who believed that the money could have been used better, i.e. for the purchase of necessary equipment for firefighters. The firefighters were outraged, because they didn't protest because of the inadequate equipment and old vehicles, knowing that it was penniless and saving money, and Pješčić bought the vehicle despite that.
"Peščić bought a jeep, even though he also had an official vehicle 'dacia' at his disposal", said the disgruntled firefighters.
