Although there was a delivery in several state pharmacies yesterday, medicines against high blood pressure, diabetes and antibiotics are still not available in Podgorica.
Many citizens left the "Montefarm" pharmacy in Ulica slobode empty-handed yesterday, because there was no "monopril", "presol", "triace"...
"Montefarm" did not specify when the medicine will be available in sufficient quantities, and as "Vijesti" unofficially learns, the shortage could last until the end of April.
"A tender for the procurement of medicines has been announced, so medicines that were not included in the basic list of medicines until now, but have been included in the new list, will be available on prescription in Montefarm's pharmacies only when they are procured in accordance with the law (through a tender) ".
In several state pharmacies, despite the fact that the flu season is in progress, there were no antibiotics - "amoxicillin" and "panclav" yesterday.
The patients claim that due to the general shortage of medicines in the Podgorica Health Center, they cannot even get an injection of "longacef" against bronchitis, pneumonia, infections...
"Montefarm" announced that yesterday they received a small amount of "endacin" ("longacef") injections, which is enough for seven days: "We expect an additional delivery, after an intervention purchase, if the supplier is able to deliver it to us under the requested conditions ".
Director of the Health Insurance Fund, Kenan Hrapović, announced earlier that they have started signing contracts with 112 private pharmacies where citizens will be able to pick up prescription drugs at the same time.
There are still no drugs for diabetics, parents are disappointed
Even yesterday, diabetics could not buy insulin and glucagon injections, which represent emergency help in case of very low sugar levels.
The representative of the NGO "Dječja nada" Dragana Bakrač said that the parents of children suffering from diabetes are disappointed, because there is no "glucagon", "levemir" insulin, nor strips for the device for measuring blood sugar, the price of which is around 26 euros.
Bakrač emphasized that the devices for measuring blood sugar, which they received from the Health Insurance Fund, do not function properly.
On behalf of her parents, she appealed to the authorities to deliver the medicines for the diabetic as soon as possible, pointing out that she only has one "glucagon" injection with her, which, she claims, has expired.
