The president of the Safe Women's House, Ljiljana Raičević, said that we must remind the state that it has ratified the Istanbul Convention, thereby undertaking to change laws and eliminate violence against women.

Raičević said today, at the "One Billion Rises" demonstration on Republic Square, that women want to signal by dancing that they will not stop and that the state must have a shelter that will support them, but also implement the recommendations from an important document that protects women.

"This year is yours and all the next ones are yours, you are queens and empresses...", said Raičević to the women who gathered on the square to mark the global initiative that is implemented in around 200 countries around the world, and in Montenegro thanks to financial support from UNDP.

She told the girls, women and women who danced in the square yesterday that they should not suffer violence and that they must be treated as equal and respectful beings.

Gordana Mugoša from Cetinje said that she will try to fight against violence with dance and smile and announced that soon a non-governmental organization will start working in that city that will deal with human rights guaranteed by the Constitution, with an emphasis on women's rights.

"One Billion Rises" is the most massive activist movement in the history of the international fight against violence against women and girls, and is celebrated on February 14 every year.
