The drug for maintaining pregnancy, "utrogestan", has not been available in state pharmacies for more than 15 days.
"Montefarm" clarified that the medicine is not available in Podgorica because, as they claim, the importer and distributor are late with the delivery. They pointed out that "smaller amounts" of the drug can be found in Tuzi:
"The medicine is expected again in eight days".
One of the pregnant women told "Vijesta" that she visited all "Montefarm" pharmacies in Podgorica and that there was no medicine anywhere, the price of which is around nine euros.
"Utrogestan" is prescribed when maintaining pregnancies, usually when there is a risk of premature birth or spontaneous abortion. The pregnant woman explained that from the third month of pregnancy until delivery, she must drink the mentioned medicine, for which she needs to allocate around 40 euros per month.
Given that the medicine is on the list of the Health Insurance Fund, pregnant women can request a refund if they buy it in private pharmacies.
There is also a shortage of medicines for asthmatics
Last week, there were no medicines for asthmatics in pharmacies in Podgorica, Budva and Cetinje. Citizens complained that even after the delivery of medicines, there are no pumps for asthmatics "symbicort", inhalation solution "berodual", nor the anti-asthma medicine "singulair".
It was announced from "Montefarm" that Podgorica pharmacies received "symbicort" last Friday, "in the quantities that were available", that they will receive "berodual" solution in two days, and "singulair" by the end of the week.
