In the past two months, the health-sanitary inspection carried out surveillance in health institutions in Montenegro, and some of the analyzes of the swabs showed the presence of certain bacteria in smaller numbers, the Directorate for Inspection Affairs announced.
Supervision was carried out in general hospitals in Berane, Bijelo Polje, Pljevlja, Nikšić, Kotor, Bar and Cetinje, special hospitals in Risan and Brezovik, inpatient wards of maternity hospitals in health centers in Rožaje, Mojkovac and Ulcinj, private hospital in Meljini, private special hospital "Codra" , as well as in the Clinic for Urology and Nephrology, Orthopedics with Traumatology and the Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic of the Clinical Center of Montenegro.
In general hospitals, as explained, maternity wards, neonatology departments, urology and orthopedic departments were inspected.
"Inspection supervision included control of medical documentation, notification of infectious diseases, programs for preventing and combating hospital infections, provision of medical examinations of employees, sanitary and hygienic conditions, control of implementation of cleaning, disinfection and sterilization," says the announcement.
It is stated that during the inspection, 414 swabs were taken in cooperation with the Institute for Public Health, and that the swabs taken from work surfaces and equipment were satisfactory.
"The results of swab analyzes that showed the presence of certain bacteria were in smaller numbers and belonged to the group of conditionally pathogenic bacteria. Those health institutions were ordered to carry out corrective cleaning and disinfection measures and to repeat the swabs, which a large number of institutions did and notified the inspection." , the statement said.
For a smaller number, as stated, the results of re-sampling are awaited.
