Works on the implementation of energy efficiency measures in seven schools on the territory of Montenegro have been completed, namely six elementary schools - "Braća Ribar", "Mileva Lajović Lalatović", "Jagoš Kontić" and. "Milija Nikčević" in Nikšić, "Maršal Tito" in Ulcinj and "Dašo Pavičić" in Herceg Novi, as well as secondary schools. "Brotherhood and unity" in Ulcinj, and the value of the works is 4,6 million euros.
At the mentioned schools, facade carpentry was replaced, thermal and waterproofing of the roofs, thermal insulation of the facade, installation of a new central heating system or reconstruction of the existing one, reconstruction of boiler rooms, replacement of lamps, as well as reconstruction of sanitary facilities and construction of sanitary facilities for handicapped persons.
The ceremony for the completion of the works was organized at the "Braća Ribar" elementary school in Nikšić, and the director of that institution, Ranko Šljivić, emphasized the importance of the project, which is financed by loans and donations from the German Development Bank (KfW).
The director of the Directorate for Energy Efficiency, Dragica Sekulić, said that works on the reconstruction of the student dormitory in Kotor are underway.
"Everything was planned to be done in six months, and we finished the work in four months. I am particularly pleased that Nikšić companies worked on the project and we are satisfied with the work done, which shows that our companies are doing an excellent job. For next year, we are planning the reconstruction of the health center," said Sekulić.

Assistant Minister of Education Vesna Vučurović said that over eight million euros have been invested in school facilities so far, as well as that we must instruct the new generations on energy sustainability and how we treat natural resources.
Ursula Romerskirchen-Hilbertz, the first consul in the German Embassy in Podgorica, said that the German Government has prepared additional funds for the extension of the program in Montenegro, as well as that KfW is preparing similar programs in Serbia, Albania, Kosovo and Turkey.
At the end of the ceremony, the attendees watched a film about the reconstruction of schools.
