The Media Center submitted a petition to the RTCG Council regarding, as they say, the manner in which TVCG reported on the protests of the citizens of Bar regarding the cutting of cypress trees and the construction of a kindergarten in the school yard.
"In Dnevnik 2, broadcast on 19.1.2019, in the twentieth minute of this news show, a news item was published, lasting 27 seconds, dedicated to the citizens of Bar and their protest against the cutting of cypress trees and the construction of a kindergarten in the school yard. This short news item was published after the report on the demonstrations of citizens in Greece, who oppose the signing of the Prespa Agreement with Macedonia, which concerns the new name of that country. The report dedicated to the demonstrations in Greece lasted one minute," the petition states.
According to the Media Center, instead of giving priority to local topics in the central news broadcast, to open a space for citizens to express their reasons for expressing dissatisfaction, priority is given to less important topics.
"In this way, an attempt is being made to minimize the problem around which the citizens of Bar have gathered, and TVCG continues to hide and manipulatively transmit information that does not suit the authorities," the announcement states.
"The Media Center does not ask for or expect anything from the RTCG Council, general director Božidar Šundić and the editors responsible for this type of citizen reporting. This petition was submitted to the RTCG Council only in order to leave a trace of their work, which is not in the interest of the citizens of Montenegro. Up".
