In recent days, state pharmacies have been missing some medicines, mostly for cardiovascular diseases, said the director of Montefarm, Budimir Stanišić, stating that the overabundance of medicines is caused by an inadequate budget.
He said that this pharmacy institution undertakes everything within its jurisdiction and works only with the consent of the Ministry of Health and the Health Insurance Fund.
All tenders this year, as explained by Stanišić for Radio Montenegro, were implemented successfully.
"The shortage of certain preparations, such as Vasotal, Monopril 20 plus, Romokrypton, is caused by an inadequate budget for medicines," he stated.
Stanišić said that Montefarm acquired a certain amount of medicines worth 31 million euros, which is the amount planned for this year.
"It is obvious that this sum is not enough. The only solution is to allocate more money for medicines, since their consumption is high," believes Stanišić.
He said that the state must do this, stating that additional money must be provided for preparations that are currently not available in pharmacies, "because patients must not suffer".
