The price of a cubic meter of water in Kotor, which for households with VAT is 1,1 euros, and for legal entities 2,2 euros, should be lower after the elimination of losses, announced the Municipality of Kotor.
The main cause of the high price per cubic meter - losses in water supply, are decreasing in the area of Kotor municipality from year to year and according to information from the Public Company Waterworks and Sewerage are currently slightly above 70 percent.
"That's a huge difference compared to the former 85 percent," said company director Dragan Roganović.
As he said, loss detection is an extremely expensive business. "Defects have been detected, and significant financial resources are needed to replace parts and pipes. To that end, certain projects were nominated".
He stated that with the help of the Municipality in Vodovod, they replaced the pipeline in the area of the complete Dobrota do Kampo, where now there are practically no losses.
"We also made a study on loss zones on the water supply system along with the estimate of the works. Therefore, in the next phase, Vodovod's priority will be to reduce losses and reduce them to the European standard," Roganović said.
According to him, work is being done very seriously to eliminate "wild" connections.
"More energetic than ever, we are now dealing with this problem, which is not easy to solve, because private plots have to be entered," Roganović added.
He said that sometimes Vodovda workers are not welcome there, which is why the work is not going fast enough. "The process itself implies criminal charges and prison sentences. However, we have entered into this process which is already yielding certain results".
