Representatives of the Islamic community in Bijelo Polje and the residents of the settlement of Nedakusi of the Orthodox faith agreed yesterday to jointly overcome the conflict that arose a few weeks ago due to the call to prayer from the loudspeaker of the mosque in Nedakusi.
This is the result of a meeting of the mayor of Bijelo Polje, Aleksandar Žurić, with representatives of the Islamic Community Committee and the Nedakusi Local Community, which was closed to the media. After the meeting in Rist Ratković's house, which lasted for about three hours, the chief imam Enis Burdžović and President Žurić did not want to make statements to the press.
The president of the Nedakusi local community, Željko Raičević, said that the problem between the residents of that suburban settlement does not actually exist, and that neighborhood talks are now being held in order to avoid similar tensions in the future.
