Podgorica Basic Court judge Nada Rabrenović permanently banned the distribution of texts already published in "Informer".

She made such a decision after a two-hour hearing, which was held without the presence of the public, because the prosecutor Ljiljana Klikovac requested that the public be excluded "for reasons of protecting public morals", which the court accepted.

The tabloid "Informer" has been publishing texts for days in which it brutally and unprofessionally attacks the director of the Network for the Affirmation of the Non-Governmental Sector, Vanja Ćalović.

The judge stated that the texts published in "Informer" violate the Constitution of Montenegro, the guaranteed rights and freedoms of citizens, and that such content is prohibited in order to protect public morals.

"The distribution of the published program content of NDN Montenegro "Informer" is prohibited, namely No. 642 of June 14.06.2014, 643, No. 16.06.2014 of June 644, 17.06.2014, No. 645 of June 18.06.2014, 646, No. 19.06.2014 of June 647, 20.06.2014 .648, No. 21.06.2014 from 649, No. 23.06.2014 from 650, No. 24.06.2014 from 651, No. 25.06.2014 from XNUMX, No. XNUMX from XNUMX/XNUMX/XNUMX and No. XNUMX of XNUMX/XNUMX/XNUMX," states the decision of Judge Rabrenović.

Although VDT in its request to the court also asked for a permanent ban on future controversial content in that newspaper, Klikovac did not want to comment on the court's decision.

According to unofficial information from "Vijesti", the judge could not make such a decision, because there is no legal possibility for it, because the Media Act only provides for the banning of published program content.

Due to the violation of human rights and freedoms, i.e. the violation of the dignity and integrity of MANS director Vanja Ćalović, representatives of civil society submitted an initiative to the Supreme Prosecutor's Office to ban the distribution of the "Informer" tabloid.

The appellate court previously rejected "Informer's" appeal against the temporary ruling on the ban on the distribution of published texts, as impermissible.

Due to the violation of human rights and freedoms, i.e. the violation of the dignity and integrity of MANS director Vanja Ćalović, representatives of civil society submitted an initiative to the Supreme Prosecutor's Office to ban the distribution of the tabloid "Informer".

The Initiative reminds that the Constitution "guarantees the dignity and safety of man, the inviolability of his physical and psychological integrity, his privacy and personal rights".

After that, the VDT authorized the prosecutor Klikovac for that case, who submitted a request to the Basic Court in Podgorica for the prohibition of the disputed texts.
