Secretary for Social Welfare Snežana Mijušković claims that it will cost around one million and 170 thousand euros to adapt the buildings owned by the Capital City to people with reduced mobility.

"The action plan for the adaptation of facilities owned by the Capital City for access, movement and use by persons with reduced mobility for 2014 will be implemented in two phases. In the first phase, approximately 738 thousand euros will be allocated, while in the second phase, approximately 432 thousand will be spent ", Mijušković said yesterday at the round table, where the draft of the aforementioned action plan was presented.

The action plan envisages the renovation of buildings owned by the Capital City and the busiest streets, in order to make these buildings accessible to all citizens.

Most of the money will be allocated for the renovation of the Cultural and Information Center "Budo Tomović", about 120.000 euros, and the "Parking Service" facility, about 121.000 euros.

Mijušković claims that this action plan also foresees the adjustment of the circle of streets in the Capital City, which would connect all its important institutions.

"For example, people with mobility impairments can easily get from the Clinical Center to the city center, or to the Faculty or other cultural institutions," explained Mijušković.

She pointed out that all possible objections to this action plan can be sent until Monday, when the working group will shape the action plan and send it for public discussion.

According to the latest data from MONSTAT, there are 18.573 residents living in Podgorica with disabilities in performing daily activities.
