Mirjana Vučinić, a biology professor from Elementary School "Yugoslavia" from Bar, and "Zagorka Ivanović" Kindergarten from Cetinje are the winners of the annual award for outstanding contribution in the field of education and upbringing.
Vučinić, when presenting the award, said that she was proud of the new recognition, which she will understand as an invitation for further advancement.
"I will try to teach my students with quality in the future, so that they become better people," she said.
The director of the kindergarten "Zagorka Ivanović" Senka Vuksanović said that she was honored to receive this recognition.
"I also thank the proposer, the mayor of Cetinje, Aleksandar Bogdanović, the members of the jury, as well as the 550 children who come to our kindergartens and 1.100 parents, as well as the employees who contribute," said Vuksanović.
Minister of Education Slavoljub Stijepović noted that "Octoih" is one of those values of the history of Montenegro that has a permanent meaning.
"The award went to those whose work and commitment were proposed at all levels," said Stijepović.
The president of the jury, Pavle Goranović, said that he believes that the award will be an even greater incentive for the Cetinje kindergarten team to continue with quality work, in order to achieve results in the field of preschool education and upbringing in the future.
"Professor Vučinić has been working in education for more than two decades, and during that time she has earned the well-deserved trust of professors, her home school, the professional public and, most importantly, the students to whom she imparts her knowledge," Goranović said.
He noted that her students achieve the best results in municipal and state competitions.
In addition to Goranović, the jury included prof. Dr. Marko Camaj, Svetislav Bakić, Milica Pajović and Borislav Kašćelan.
