About a dozen mountaineers from the Cetinje Mountaineering Club "Soko" cleaned the site of Gnjijevo dol - Jabuka yesterday.

Dušan Kaluđerović from that club told the News that the action was carried out in accordance with the club's Statute, with the aim of raising environmental awareness among citizens.

"In addition to nine mountaineering campaigns and one educational workshop, this club successfully implemented the first ecological campaign, where a large amount of waste was collected, which was then moved to the city landfill. Gjnijevi do is a very popular promenade for recreationists, so over time a large amount of waste has accumulated in it, partly from unscrupulous walkers, and partly from unscrupulous citizens who illegally dispose of their trash in this area," said Kaluđerović.

He added that the action was carried out under the slogan "Let's protect the Earth and the nature on it, because we did not inherit them from our ancestors, but borrowed them from our descendants".
