The owner of the Podgorica cafe "Tropikana" in Bokeška Street, Dragan Keković, claims that he receives enormously large water bills, but also that until recently, no one checked the state of the clock for three years, even though he requested it several times.
According to the calculation, Keković owes more than three thousand euros for about thirty bills, but he points out that he has paid some bills.
"Now I have to spend 80 cubic meters per month, that is, I have to pay 160 euros. According to that calculation, I use four cisterns of water per month, which is impossible. My water bill turns out to be the same as my electricity bill, that's not normal," Keković said.
Practically, this means that Keković consumes 80 liters per month, or about 2.700 per day.
He also suspects that "Vodovod" workers damaged the water meter.
The Technical Director of "Water and Sewerage" Filip Makrid pointed out that everyone has the right to file a complaint if they suspect that they have been damaged.
"If the owner of the 'Tropikana' cafe thinks that something is wrong with the water meter and that we have damaged it, he should come to us with a complaint and we will send our workers to calibrate the water meter, if necessary in his presence. If it is determined that the water meter is defective, we will apologize to Keković and reduce the bill...", said Makrid.
Keković pointed out that he is ready for the authorities to install a new water meter and then collect the average quarterly consumption for the previous three years as well.
He emphasized that he is willing to pay a thousand euros in advance, so that he would not be disconnected from the network, but not to pay for what he claims he did not spend.
