Residents of Risno, Bijela, Sutomore, Stari Bar, Virpazar and Tuzi finally got pharmacies in their towns again yesterday.
Since March 2012, they had to go to larger centers for medicines, because "Galenika Crna Gora" closed its facilities at that time due to financial problems.
The agreement between Galenika and the "Montefarm" pharmacy establishment stipulates that as of December 1, state pharmacies will take over six facilities in local communities. The information that the agreement was respected was confirmed yesterday by the director of Montefarm, Budimir Stanišić.
"Those six pharmacies, which are located in places where there are no private pharmacies for citizens, will conclude a contract with Montefarm and Galenika to take over those pharmacies for a period of one year, with the possibility of extension to three years," Stanišić announced earlier.
The director of Galenika Montenegro, Aleksandar Šćepanović, said that, in accordance with the contract, Montefarm will also take over 11 employees in those pharmacies. The contract will be valid for one year.
All Galenika pharmacies, 14 of them, were closed in March last year due to the financial situation in that company. That wholesale drug store was then managed by Marko Ljusić, and after a few months, Miodrag Ivanović, the former director of "Pobjeda", took over the leadership position. However, he also left that company after a short time, so Deputy Director Aleksandar Šćepanović took over.
