The prices of textbook sets for elementary students will be changed in the coming school year for the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grades.
While the price of the textbook set for the sixth grade will be 11,5 euros cheaper, it will cost 68,30 euros, the set for the eighth grade will be six euros more expensive, compared to last year, and will cost 94,20 euros.
According to data from bookstores of the Institute for Textbooks and Teaching Aids, the price of textbooks for the fifth grade will be cheaper by 80 cents, i.e. this year it will cost 67 euros, and a set of books for the seventh grade will be more expensive by 50 cents, i.e. 94,20 euros.
Kit prices for other primary school grades will remain the same. The kit for the champions will cost 43,10 euros, for the second grade 50,80 euros, for the third grade 47,70, for the fourth grade 59,60 and for the ninth grade 88,20 euros.
In the bookstores of the Institute for Textbooks, they say that new textbooks will be sold after August 20, and that the prices of textbooks for secondary schools will be at the same level as last year, except in the case of changes for certain subjects.
Because of the prices, which are too high for part of the population, the sale of used textbooks is increasingly popular.
This year, the Podgorica Education Union will organize the already traditional campaign "Donate, exchange or sell a used textbook" in which students sell textbooks independently.
President of the Municipal Board of the Podgorica Education Union, Slobodan Savović, states that the action will be organized again this year, most likely, in the "Delta City" shopping center.
Although they are satisfied with the cooperation, Savović believes that more space is needed to implement the action, and they will try to provide more places for children this year.
Savović pointed out that the Trade Union is satisfied with the results of the action so far, and that they have achieved their goal.
"Our goal was for the children to socialize, but also to earn some money," said Savović.
Used textbooks, for all grades of primary and secondary school, are already offered in numerous places. Various offers can be found in "Tender ads", but also on the social network "Facebook".
Savović knows that the sale of used textbooks is increasing.
"I understand the desire of individuals to make money and use every opportunity for profit, but I don't think that's right," said Savović.
Sets of used textbooks for the sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth grades of elementary school can be purchased in some places for only 20 euros. In one of the ads, the price of textbooks for the sixth grade, with reading material, is 40 euros, and for the seventh grade, 30 euros.
For the lower grades, from the first to the fourth grade, sets of new books are offered, 10 euros a set, and it is also possible to buy photocopied books for primary and secondary at a price of 0,15 cents per page.

Free textbooks for students in several municipalities
Free textbooks for champions will be given away by individual municipalities this year as well.
It was decided earlier that the champions will be presented with the capital Podgorica, Nikšić, Bijelo Polje, Kolašin and Cetinje.
The Municipality of Berane will purchase textbooks for all elementary school students, while the Municipality of Herceg Novi will provide free textbook sets for students in the first three grades of elementary school this year.
