Duklja became "Docela": The name of the archaeological site was misspelled

Next to the archeological site of Duklja and at the intersection on the old road Podgorica - Danilovgrad, there are signs with the wrongly written name - instead of "Doclea" the sign says "Docela".

On the sign next to the site itself, even the arrow, which has since been repainted, was incorrectly placed - it indicated that Duklja is on the right, not the left.

The sign, meanwhile, was most likely vandalized and defaced.

Director of "Roads" Violeta Klikovac said yesterday that the signs were placed by the Tourist Organization of Podgorica, which they, however, denied.

"Probably an error occurred during installation. We have established that the inscription on the sign has an error and we will replace it in the foreseeable future, but as a rule people from the Tourist Organization should fix it", Klikovac told "Vijesta".

The Tourism Organization of Podgorica announced that they did not put up signs on Duklja and that they did not know that the name of the locality was written incorrectly on the sign.

They emphasized that they will do their best to pass this information on to the authorities.

"Vijesti" previously published a text about road signs with wrong inscriptions in English. On the road sign in Marka Miljanova Street, the inscription "Catholic church" was written instead of "Catholic church", the Church of Christ's Resurrection was translated as Orthodox church ("Orthodox churche"), and it should have been written "Orthodox church".

On the road sign in Marka Miljanova Street, the misspelled toponym Canyon of the river "Cijevna" was written, although river names are not written in quotation marks, and nouns agree in gender, number and case, and in English it was written "canjon", instead of " canyon".

There were also mistakes on other signs in the city, so the apostrophe was omitted in the inscription "King Nicholas summer house".

The name of the Montenegro Agency for Restructuring and Foreign Investments on the Government Building was also misspelled.
