The director of the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG), Zorica Kovačević, will leave the institution next week, due to her transfer to the post of president of the Municipality of Danilovgrad.
Kovačević confirmed this information to "Vijeci" yesterday. Councilors of the Municipal Assembly of Danilovgrad will elect the president on July 26.
According to the reliable information of "Vijesti", Kovačević will most likely be replaced as director of KCCG by the president of the Board of Directors of that health institution, neurologist Jevto Eraković.
At the end of last year, he was appointed acting director of the Clinic for Neurology.
The director of the Nikšić hospital, Ilija Ašanin, and the director of the Emergency Center, Nermin Abdić, are also mentioned as possible candidates for the director of the KCCG.
The head of the KCCG is elected by the Government, on the proposal of the Minister of Health.
Kovačević, a lawyer by profession, was elected director of KCCG in December 2016. From 2003 to 2005, she was assistant to the Minister of Health, for the next five years she was the director of the "Dimitrije Dika Marenić" Health Center in Danilovgrad, and she was also the Minister of Labor and Social Welfare.
Upon her arrival to the post of KCCG director, she chose Snežana Raspopović as her first associate, i.e. medical director, while she appointed Nermin Abdić to head the Emergency Center.
At the beginning of her mandate, Kovačević said that as the director of the largest health institution in Montenegro, she would do everything "to restore citizens' trust in the health system" and that one of her priorities would be to improve the standards of health workers.
The director of KCCG was the holder of the list "For the good of the citizens of Danilovgrad — Victorious! Coalition DPS, LP — Milo Đukanović", which won absolute power in the local elections in May this year, i.e. 19 out of 33 council seats.
