An unusual case: The first triplets in the barn after 15 years

In the barn of Mir Furundžić in Rasovo near Bijelo Polje, a Simmental cow gave birth to three calves, which is the first case in that municipality in the last 15 years.

All three calves are female and in good health, confirmed veterinarian Nikola Grandov.

"The cow was able to bear about 150 kilograms, which was the weight of the calves together with the amniotic fluid. The calves weighed 30 to 35 kilograms. Although the birth of triplets in cows is less common than in other domestic animals, she easily endured the birth and the calves are in excellent condition," said Grandov and added that this is his first such case in 25 years of practice.
