The State Archives of Montenegro and Republika Srpska signed an agreement on cooperation between them in Cetinje, which includes, among other things, joint publishing activities, participation in international scientific gatherings, and staff exchange.
The agreement was signed by the directors of those institutions, Stevan Radunović and Dušan Popović.
The director of the Montenegrin Archives, Stevan Radunović, said that there have been contacts and certain forms of cooperation between these two state archives.
"But the just signed Agreement gives us a good framework for future cooperation on the basis of which we will jointly design concrete forms of action and concrete projects.
I am convinced that this kind of cooperation is ahead of us, starting with the exchange of experiences, publications and experts," said Radunović.
The director of the State Archives of the Republika Srpska, Dušan Popović, said that one of the first forms of joint cooperation that he will propose will be the opening of branches in Herceg Novi and Trebinje, which are very closely related in terms of land registers.
"With this openness, we will achieve that the citizens of the two cities will no longer have to travel from one to the other, but correspondence will be conducted electronically and problems will be solved, and in this way we will put ourselves at the service of the citizens of Montenegro and Republika Srpska," said Popović.
