More than 70 percent of Montenegrin citizens believe that corruption is a pronounced problem in society, and that it is most represented in customs, the prosecution and the judiciary, according to a survey by the Center for Democracy and Human Rights (CEDEM). Annual survey on corruption - Risk of corruption in judicial system and in the business sector, which was carried out by CEDEM, was presented today in Podgorica. According to the words of the chief methodologist of CEDEM, Miloš Bešić, the survey showed that citizens have the most trust in religious confessions, 74,1 percent of them, in the education system and in President of Montenegro.
The total trust in institutions is 46,2 percent, which, as he said, is a slight increase compared to last year when it was 45 percent. More than 70 percent of Montenegrin citizens believe that corruption is a more or less pronounced problem and that Bešić, high value.
The opinion that corruption is a pronounced social problem is mostly based on the experiences of those people whom they trust, 67 percent, while 40,8 percent claim it based on personal experience. As the research showed, the media has a great influence on the perception of corruption among individuals, and thus 63,5 percent of them believe that corruption is a social problem because of what they hear in the media.
According to the results of the research, the largest number of citizens believe that money must be offered to customs officials, 52 percent of them and health workers, 51,8 and then to police officers, inspectors and judges.

"Citizens are the least convinced that money must be offered to councilors in the local parliament, members of the Assembly, teachers and professors," Bešić said.
