Inspectors of the Budva Communal Police and Inspection sealed 25 construction sites yesterday, after it was determined that the investors were not respecting the ban on carrying out works that came into force on June 15 in the entire territory of the municipality.
"Vijesti" was told that several residential and commercial buildings and hotels under construction from Budva to Petrovac were sealed, and fines ranging from 100 euros for individuals to 500 and 1.000 for construction companies were imposed.
By municipal decision, the construction ban was supposed to come into effect on May 15 for the exclusive and first zone, along the coast itself, but investors were tacitly allowed to build for ten more days.
The ban for the remaining parts - the second, third and fourth zones - came into effect on June 15. Since then, no one has been allowed to build, because the season has started in earnest and more than 20.000 tourists are already resting in Budva.
Builders and machines, however, continued to work on many construction sites, which led to the action of the Municipal Police.
"Municipal inspectors, in accordance with the Decision on communal order on the prohibition of construction works during the tourist season, carried out inspections on the territory of the entire municipality. On that occasion, administrative measures and actions were taken against 25 responsible persons, investors and contractors, who, despite the ban that came into force, were carrying out construction work on their facilities", according to the minutes of the Communal Police.
During the summer months, any works are prohibited.
