The President of the Chamber of Notaries of Montenegro, Tanja Čepić, presented a donation to the Clinical Center of Montenegro, which will enable the opening of a special hall of the Lactarium, where the milk of mothers whose children have not been brought to breastfeed will be stored.
The announcement states that the first mother's milk provides the baby with immunity and is rich in nutrients that are adapted to the baby's underdeveloped digestive organs.
Also, breast milk prevents allergies, asthma and respiratory infections. In addition, breastfeeding has a positive effect on the mother's health. Research has shown that women who breastfeed for more than a year are less likely to suffer from cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.
"This will make it possible for newborn babies to receive their mother's milk, which would be taken from them and stored. This novelty also opens the possibility that newborns whose mothers do not have milk, as their first meals, receive natural and, for the health and development of the child, irreplaceable food." , stated in the joint statement.
It is added that the director of the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics, Dr. Snežana Crnogorac, said that the donation is of particular importance for the youngest population, which represents the priority of every society.
"This is valuable equipment, something we have not had at the Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic until now, something that will enable all babies to enjoy the benefits of mother's milk," said Dr. Crnogorac, adding that such an effort is selflessly supported by numerous institutions, institutions and individuals. .
The breastfeeding support project involves the establishment of a peer counseling center on breastfeeding-related problems. Volunteers - mothers who have successfully breastfed their children, will undergo training led by medical professionals, psychologists, as well as experienced breastfeeding counselors from the region.
It is planned that, after the end of the training, the counselors will take over the management of the SOS telephone line, which would be available to all new and expectant mothers in order to eliminate and prevent possible problems during breastfeeding.
During the ceremonial presentation of the donation, the President of the Chamber of Notaries, as stated in the announcement, said that "in times of crisis, we must not lose sight of the value of solidarity."
"Finally, solidarity with the weak and in general with those who are in difficulties is part of our best tradition. Therefore, we believe that economically viable and successful companies, especially in these times, have emphasized obligations", said Čepić.
The "Laktarium" project is part of the plan of activities for improving the care of offspring, which, with the support of donors, is being implemented by the Ministry of Health and KCCG.
