The mountain lodge on the Bukumir Lake has remained just a dead letter, because the Capital City has refused to grant the necessary permission for six years.
Back in August 2006, the hiking club "Gorica", in cooperation with USAID, launched an initiative in the Assembly of the Capital City for the construction of a hiking lodge near Bukumir lake.
They even promised money from USAID, but the green light from the capital is still waiting.
The president of PK "Gorica" Aco Đurašković said that it is a shame that there is no mountain lodge in a municipality with such beautiful mountains.
He said that they had prepared a project for the home and all the infrastructural contents, only the municipality's confirmation about the use of the space was missing. The planned mountain lodge was supposed to be used by all mountain clubs, and the municipality would be the owner.

Đurašković pointed out that they submitted all the necessary documentation to the then manager of the Capital City, Pavlo Radulović, but that it was only three years ago that the then vice-president of the municipality, Mirko Nilević, went on the field.
"He liked the location and only had words of praise for the project, however, to this day, there is nothing of its realization. We were only missing that document, I don't know why we didn't get it, I guess the economic crisis affected that segment as well. All the same, it is a shame and unacceptable that we do not have a mountain lodge in our municipality, but we have such beautiful mountains", Đurašković believes.
He explained that it is planned that the home, with about 30 beds, will be built above the Bukumir lake.
"The plot of about a thousand square meters was located above the Bukumir Lake, close to the road, yet far from the lake. It is planned that the home will have a floor and an attic in which they would place about 30 beds. They would get 50-60 thousand dollars from the American organization, we got all the necessary approvals, we just needed a decision from the municipality to confirm the right to use it", said Đurašković.
