"Novartis" flu vaccines, which are produced in Switzerland and whose circulation in Italy was recently banned, are not present on the Montenegrin market, the Directorate for Inspection Affairs announced after the control of the Health and Sanitary Inspection.
"It was established that two flu vaccines are in circulation in Montenegro: 'Fluarix vac. GlaxoSmithKline Ykiss', whose country of origin is Germany, and 'Vaxi flu Sanofi Pasteur' produced in France.
The decision to ban came after the Italian pharmaceutical agency decided that additional tests were needed following symptoms of possible side effects from the vaccine
The wholesale drugstore 'Montefarm' supplies health centers with the first one, while the wholesale drugstore 'Farmalab' supplies private health institutions and pharmacies with the second vaccine," the Administration's announcement reads.
The Italian Ministry of Health has banned the sale and use of four flu vaccines from the Swiss pharmaceutical company Novartis.
The decision was made after the Italian pharmaceutical agency decided that additional tests were needed following symptoms of possible side effects from the vaccine.
