When he was taking out the net from Lake Skadar, Mitar Vukotić did not even dream that he would find a fathead minnow in it, weighing 52,5 kilograms.
"We threw the nets in the evening and when we came to take it out, we had something to see - in addition to 4-5 carp, there was also this giant. Its circumference is a meter, and its length is 1,5 meters," said Vukotić last night. News".
He said that he had never caught a bigger fish before, and he claims that even older fishermen told him that they had never heard or seen anything like it.
Vukotić added that he was fishing with his brother and that they barely pulled the giant fathead minnow out of the water.
"It would be easier to lift a bag of cement. Taking the huge fish out of the water took about 15 minutes. We tried various ways to get it out, because this species is very 'slippery' and it is not easy to catch it. I barely managed to, with my brother's help, finally brought out to dry," said Vukotić.
He said that fishermen have previously caught 35- or 40-kilogram fatties, that is, almost a third less than the monstrosity he found in the net.
Fishing is a hobby for Vukotić, and after yesterday's catch he is even more enthusiastic about it.
A fat man weighing more than 50 kilograms will end up on the table because he has already been bought by the owner of a restaurant from Šušanje near Bar.
