That there are still people who appreciate knowledge and true values was shown by the students of the "golden" Nikšić biologist class from the 1980/81 generation, which was declared the best in the former Yugoslavia.

They founded the "IV5 Oikos" Foundation in order to preserve the memory of the class and once a year, through donations and voluntary contributions, they awarded a cash prize to the best natural science student of the Nikšić high school.

Petar Tadić, a high school graduate who won a bronze medal at the Physics Olympiad in Estonia this year, had the honor of being the first to receive a cash prize in the amount of one thousand euros.

"I am very happy that there are still people like this who teach us to value knowledge. I thank the Foundation for allowing me to be first among equals in this phenomenal competition.

It is good that knowledge is not a neglected category in Montenegro and that it is what, I hope, will lead this country one day to the right path as normal societies should develop", said Petar.

Petar Tadić, a high school graduate who won a bronze medal at this year's Physics Olympiad in Estonia, was the first to receive a cash prize.

Svetlana Crnogorac Vasić, the best student of the famous IV5 department, today a successful neuropsychiatrist in London, showed that it was not easy to choose the best. She explained that average people could not apply for the competition, nor those who only got all fives.

They were looking for more than that - students who separated themselves from their generation with ambition and creativity, results in competitions, not only in Montenegro but beyond.

"We thought about whether we made too many demands on young people, but we risked at the cost of not having such a candidate, not awarding the award and admitting with a heavy heart that we failed this time. And then four great candidates appeared," said Crnogorac.

She admitted that for days they compared the results of Petr Tadić, Anđela Mijanović, Milovan Roganović and Janko Radulović.

"Unfortunately, there is only one award, but let no one be disappointed, but filled with pride for being among the special ones," said Crnogorac.

Željko Radojević, the owner of the well-known London restaurant "Grove", is one of the students of the golden class, which had 28 girls, six boys, and had an average grade of 4,72.

"Our generation, like many others like us, when we finished our studies and became academic citizens, was caught up in the whirlwind of war. We each went our separate ways, but we didn't forget the values we were taught.

Success is achieved through knowledge and work, and knowledge is a wealth that no one can ever take away from you, regardless of where your path takes you," said Radojević.

Mira Joksović thanked all the sponsors and donors who helped them realize their idea, and the young pianist Vesna Đukić performed two compositions.

The participants of the competition, Anđela, Milovan and Janko, were presented with diplomas and books with the wish to continue paving the way to success with knowledge.

To the foundation, the name of the class leader

The idea of founding the Foundation was born in May of last year during the celebration of 30 years of high school graduation.

It was named "Oikos" in honor of biology professor and class leader, Slobodan Brajušković, who is much better known by the mentioned nickname.

His students say that the nickname was in accordance with him (the word 'oikos' means house, home, habitat), because he was the kind of friend that teenagers in those years needed so much.

Brajušković, who worked in Nikšić for 18 years and in Podgorica for 22 years, said that IV5 students were his special happiness and that it was a privilege to teach students who always sought more knowledge than what was foreseen in the plan and program.
