The World Environmental Day at the Herzegovinian company Vodovod i Kanalizacija was marked by the presentation of commendations to two workers for their conscientious and responsible work and contribution to environmental protection. Muhamet Tairi and Muhamet Beriša were awarded, they are employed in the Sewerage Network Maintenance Work Unit.
The company draws attention to an educational campaign in their organization that promotes socially responsible behavior in terms of environmental protection with an emphasis on responsible behavior towards communal infrastructure. The goal of the campaign, promoted by Rambo Amadeus, is to raise communal culture to a higher level, as well as global awareness of the importance of environmental protection.
The World Environment Day has been celebrated every June 5 in the world since 1972, because on that day the Conference on Environmental Protection was held in Stockholm. On this occasion, various environmental activities and campaigns are organized around the world every year that promote a responsible attitude towards the environment. Environmental protection implies a set of different procedures and measures that prevent endangerment of the environment in order to preserve the biological balance.
