When Biljana and Dejan Mitrović from Nikšić had a son in July 2015, there was no end to their happiness. Little Wolf was born weighing less than 1,5 kilograms and placed in the neonatology department.
True to his name, the Wolf fought and won his first battle. He came home after three and a half months.
"Very quickly, the doctors diagnosed him with cerebral palsy. He was one year old at the time. They told us that it was a very severe form of cerebral palsy, that there were no rules, that we should work a lot with him and take him to physical therapy regularly," she said. Since then, a new struggle between Vuk and his parents has started, which continues today. The wolf will be three years old next month, but he still doesn't sit, walk or talk on his own.
"For three years we have been taking him to physical examination in Nikšić, we regularly go to Igalo, we were also in Belgrade in the winter. It seems to us that there is progress, although everything is going slowly. They recommended stem cell treatment in Turkey," said Biljana.
They would stay in Istanbul for two months, undergo four therapies, and during that time Vuk would go to physical therapy. For that, they need almost 34.000 euros, and so far a little over 4.700 have been collected.
The Mitrovics hope that they will be able to collect the necessary funds with the help of humane people.
