Humanity is a view of the world, a philosophy, that is, a practice for which people are of primary importance.
The Glendzo family was guided by this motto, while helping many Montenegrin citizens.
They are not known to the Crogor public, they do not want to talk publicly about the good they have done, but their engagement is part of our everyday life.
A friend of the family, Ivan Grdinić, says that they have never had the need to talk about the money they have been allocating for years to help Montenegro.
"Although originally from Cetinje, the members of that family are not citizens of Montenegro," Grdinić said.
"From the results of successful business and Christian beliefs, the Glendzo family has a special obligation towards socially vulnerable families in Montenegro. They believe that the business success of each individual, and especially of business entities, should provide help to those who need it. Numerous social projects were initiated and carried out by that family in the past years," said Grdinić about his friends.
As he says, their desire is to use their example to encourage others to help others, to be altruistic and empathetic, and to make their actions a practice in these areas.
Volunteers of the Red Cross (CK) recently finished distributing humanitarian aid to the most socially vulnerable families in the country.
2.000 families from all Montenegrin municipalities received help with food and hygiene items.
The food packages contained basic food items, and hygiene packages were also distributed. The money for that valuable donation was again, as they say in that organization, provided by the Glendjo family.
And last year they supported a similar donation, when around 1 families received help.
It is a fascinating fact that in two years, that family donated 200 tons of aid to the Red Cross, that is, to the poorest, for almost 4.000 families.
Since the opening of the Cetinje National Kitchen of the Metropolis of Montenegro and the Littoral, that family has been constantly involved in its work, and every year they receive a financial contribution from them for the purchase of foodstuffs.
"Every day we have over 150 meals ready, which is about 55.000 a year. Of course, we have other contributors, but so far no one has helped the work of the National Kitchen on this scale. Gospel science does not allow us to compare contributions and measure them against each other, which one is greater than which. Because only the Lord knows who gave up what and how much in order to reach the contributions he gives. In this sense, I must say that the Glendzo family has never publicly emphasized their philanthropic efforts - which is highly commendable and an example to other contributors," said the rector of the seminary, Gojko Perović, who manages the National Kitchen in the capital, to "Vijesta".
According to him, in addition to daily meals, the National Kitchen also provides humanitarian aid in the form of food packages, clothes and shoes, to the addresses specified by the priests.
Unfortunately, there are a lot of them today, says Perović.
The example of a family that, despite its business success and life in the West, has not forgotten Montenegro and its poorest citizens inevitably forces us to think about the meaning of sharing debts and how to spend what we earn.
There is also the question of whether the state is sufficiently clear about its gratitude towards people like members of the Glendjo family. Savim is certain that Montenegro would be a much happier society if every successful businessman adopted their value system and philosophy of life.
Red Cross: We are very grateful to them
The donations of the past two years, say the Red Cross, are not the only initiatives of the Glendzo family - they also helped vulnerable citizens of Montenegro on several occasions in the previous period.
"We are very grateful to them because they continuously demonstrate their social responsibility. The support of individuals and business entities is necessary for our organization, so that we can respond to the needs of the most vulnerable users. That is why we hope that others will be guided by this example, so that together we can improve the quality of life of the citizens of Montenegro who are in a state of need", they told "Vijesta" in the Central Committee.
