For now, as stated, the situation is stable, but it does not mean that the fire will not flare up again during the day, which depends on the strength of the wind.
The fire in Crni Podi was stopped, practically, at the very edge of the black pine rainforest, whose trees are over a hundred years old and over 50 meters high.
In addition to a large number of people, two "dromedary" type airplanes of the Ministry of the Interior of Montenegro and two helicopters of the Ministry of the Interior of Serbia participated in extinguishing the fire at Crni Podi.
Black pine, characterized by a very straight and tall tree, which grows on Crni Podi, is an invaluable natural value, because it is not found anywhere else in Europe.
Crne Pode was previously included in the list of world natural heritage.
